Motion, made visible.

Positions are calculated locally using Astronomy Engine. Live follows your device clock; play advances simulated time. Patterns start hidden. Show pattern starts the simulation and adds a connection line at each sampled time as the planets move. Pause, change speed, or restart the drawing. Each pair has a stable, distinct color; use the colored pair buttons to show one connection at a time, or All connections to combine them. Crossings are overlaps of lines from different times, not physical meetings or alignment markers. Only selected planets contribute to the pattern. Outer planets automatically use longer traces; the trace window supports up to 500 years.
PNG exports a 3000 × 3000 top-down pattern for wallpapers and sharing. SVG exports editable vector lines for posters, printing, and design. Exports contain only the currently revealed lines and visible connection filters. Both omit interface controls and include the selected planets, date, and trace window in the filename. Very long traces use up to 6,000 samples per pair, so fine structure can be undersampled.
Alignment search is available with exactly two planets selected. For a pair without Earth, alignment means a local minimum in their apparent angular separation as seen from Earth's center. With Earth selected, the next Sun–Earth–planet conjunction or opposition is shown. Dates are UTC. A conjunction does not always mean an exact 3D alignment or visibility in the night sky.
Distances use astronomical units (AU). Planet and Sun sizes are enlarged; rotations and surface orientation are illustrative. The orbit paths are sampled over one orbital period. Supported dates: 1500–2600.
